AWESOME IS THEIR MIDDLE NAME.
Safety, skill, and service are important! All SU coaches are post-secondary students, a high level of sports experience, and a passion for working with children. Our staff hail from all around the world and participate in a very thorough selections process before making their way to camp. This process includes multiple references, an interview and a vulnerable sector police check. Once hired, all SU coaches go through 2-3 intensive weeks of training at the SU Canada office.
Our coaches training includes: leadership styles and strategies, child development, how to coach, child protection policies and much more!
SU Coaches travel across Ontario to run the SU Camps alongside camp volunteers – look for them in the red shirts.
Volunteers are from your community! These leaders have given up a week to make sure campers have a fun and safe experience at camp. All volunteers go through child protection policy certification, are required to have a vulnerable sector police check and go through training before meeting a camper. Look for volunteers – they’ll be in green shirts.
